Cellulite - Occurence, Causes, Types and Treatment

Definition

The dimpled skin of lower limbs, tummy or near stomach is called Cellulite. It is also seen near hips, buttocks and legs. Septae are the bands which surrounds the chamber of fat cells. Now as water retains, fat cells in this area expands and stretches the connective tissues. Thus this connective cells hardens the skins and the surrounding tissues expands with weight or water gain. As a result the skin is hold down and the other section is pushed outwards which is appeared as ‘Cottage-cheese'. The root cause of Cellulite is Septae and which is not removed by ointments, therefore no lotion or cream only can be helpful in removing such diseases. Many of therapies have been tried but scientific literature has no information of any of them working. The most useful therapy is to have control on there lifestyle, diet and mental stress which prove to be the best remedy for such disease.

Occurrence

Cellulite is a disease seen in both the gender i.e. male and female. Cellulite is generally not seen amongst the male, mostly female gets infected to this diseases. It is not concerned with overweight, underweight or a normal person. It can occur to any of them.

Causes

The main causes of Cellulite are disarray of water metabolism, inadequate chronic venous and access agitated polymerization of the connecting tissues of cells. Moreover it can also be caused due to imbalances of the hormones which occur after a physical or mental suffering in ones life and also can be correlated with the person who either gains or looses weight. Meditation which generally helps body maintaining but can disturb body's natural process, and if the purification process gets disturbed it results into Cellulite. Lacking of daily exercise also gives birth to Cellulite. The other minor factors that increases cellulite is stretched clothes, elevated healed shoes and to stand or sit in a single position for a long times.

Types

Generally there are two types of Cellulites. They are hard cellulite and soft cellulite . Hard Cellulite is seen amongst the runners, dancers and who works continuously standing. As it is directly attached with muscle Hard Cellulite cannot be detached easily but are seen also amongst few people where as Soft Cellulite is mostly seen. It is formed in large areas and as it is not attached to muscle, loosing it would also be easy from the body. Cellulite can be tested by pinching or pressing the tissue with thumb and finger, it seems like an orange peel feeling like dimples or wrinkles instead of a normal fat which is smooth compared to Cellulite. Moreover its tissue is more sensitive and can be felt cold when get touched and might seen whiter than the other part of the skin.

Diet

The diet responsible for this disease is over consumption of fat, salt, alcohol, carbohydrates, caffeine and spicy foods. Smoking also helps this disease by breaking the connective tissue and results into hollow effect of Cellulite. Not only that tension and mental stress also cause the connective tissue of Cellulite.
