The causing microorganisms are bacteria, virus and fungi. The role of the nail fold is to act as a wall between the nail tissue and the nail plate. If any crack occurs in this wall then this gives the chance to the microorganisms to enter in it. The symptoms are reddishness, swelling and pain in the nail. Those people suffers from this situation who have their hands in water for prolonged periods. Pseudomona: It is an infection between the nail bed and the nail plate. The cause of infection is a bacteria.The symptoms are the discoloration of the nails. Some scientist believe that the discoloration of the nails is because of the molds instead of a fungi. Onychomycosis: It is a nail disorder which occurs because of yeast and fungal infection. In this disorder the separation of nail plates takes place which changes the shape and texture of the nails.
